Steven Bagley Steven was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He grew up in a home where his Father and 2 brothers were always taking photos and involved with photography, but Steven left home at 19, traveled most of his life living overseas.. Paris, Hamburg , Amsterdam, Athens and other parts of Europe.. He studied to become a Film Editor while going to school in Rome, and later on, worked as assistant Film editor for NDR in Hamburg, and Radio Bremen, in Germany. But, since 2001 he has made his permanent residence New York City, where he lives and works from his studio in Midtown Manhattan. Steven photographs for women, and, about women. He shoots simple photos of women in natural light.. For Steven, It's all about "The Light". Looking at his work, it's uncomplicated, there are no tricks, no gimmicks, no props, no distractions. For him, It's about the light that matters most in his photography - and he merely tries to find the most beautiful natural light possible to shoot his models in. To some of his photographer friends, he is known as the "Light Whisperer" because of his ability to find the perfect light for each of his shots. Steven specializes in shooting romantic, implied, sensual, sexy, lingerie, fashion, glamour, and editorial looks. Often, his shoots take him on the streets of the New York City where all the many variables, risks and challenges involved in shooting outside are spontaneous, exciting and often unexpected.
